The personal project, or the Green Saviour as I named it, requires me to take the responsibility for me by researching and investigating a project of my own choice. The following questions are designed to help me work out what areas I am interested in pursuing.
- What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
- When talking about spare time, usually people can relax and just do nothing for a while. I did that sometimes, because there was too much work and I need some rest. However, I tried to do something, at least something keeps me moving on. What I do most during my spare time is reading books or anything that will boost my knowledge about this world while listening to music. I love arts, including playing the violin and graphic designing.
- What are some of your hobbies or interests?
- I can be considered as a person with lots of hobbies. Like what I said above, I love arts, which is playing the music and graphic designing. I love to share my ideas and knowledge to people around me, and I consider that as one of my hobbies. Talking about sports, my favorites are bowling and badminton. I am interested in learning new things, including what people shared, and I greatly respect and accept what they have shared.
- What are some of the things you do really well? (e.g. act, play piano, soccer)
- In arts point of view, I’m good at playing the violin and graphic designing. In sports, I’m really good at bowling. And anything that has to do with science or general knowledge of this world.
- What would you like to be better at?
- When asked about this kind of questions, I just can’t think straight and answer it directly, since I think I’m already good at most things. After thinking more than twice, I would like to better at my social life. By having a lot of networking, I can also improve on my project of saving the environment. Expanding my friends will have a lot of advantages. I would also like to relate this to my life principle.
- When it comes to writing, what types of written assignments do you most enjoy and why?
- I enjoyed most written assignments. Essays, it’s a very common thing in my school, and I’m used to it, so no wonder I have come to enjoy it. I can and will do most written assignments, as long it’s rational and has a deep reason to it.
- What types of written assignments do you least enjoy and why?
- Like what’s above, I just hate to write meaningless written assignments. Writing something long and days to take, it’s a no problem for me, but than again, if there are no meanings or reasons to why I’m writing it, I won’t even start to take a paper or open my Microsoft Word. It’s just a waste of my precious time.
- Think about your school and wider community. Is there any aspect of your community that really infuriates you? (e.g. perhaps there are not enough trees in your local park?)
- Talking about the environment, and how the community deals with it, the school really have a lot of trees, since the school ground was a forest. I like how the school manage to keep the trees instead of chopping it down and building other stuff. In a wider community, I just hate my city’s atmosphere. I live in Jakarta, which is a metropolitan city. The city does not have a lot of park with lots of foliage and because the city lacks of foliages, there is a high concentration carbon dioxide. Jakarta is considered to be the one world’s most polluted city.
- At this point in time, what are some of your ideas for your Personal Project? Include what you would like the final result to be and what your goal would be.
- As you can see I have chosen what I will be doing for my Personal Project. Before coming to a conclusion of contributing to the environment, I had an idea of creating radio amplifier or something like it. I considered that not so attractive. The final result of my project should be an attractive one, and my goal is to promote the environment so people will be more aware of the situation right now.
- How will your project ideas relate to the Areas of Interaction: Approaches to Learning, Community Service, Spirituality, Health and Social Education, Human Ingenuity, and Environment? What are some of the preliminary activities you will need to complete in order to prepare for your Personal Project?
- My main AoI is definitely Environment. I relate my ideas to this AoI because according to the questions given by the AoI Environment, it’s really fitting. And maybe I can also relate it to Community Service. In order to prepare for this project, I have to have a lot of contacts and information. Some expensive gadgets are needed in order for the project to be better.
- How will you research and set about completing the personal project? What are the steps you will take?
- Most of my research are done in the internet, books, magazine, and interviews. The internet, books, and magazines comes first, since I consider this a primary resource. After knowing what, where, when, why, who of the designated plan, then interviewing comes next.
- Will you involve the community in your project? How?
- The answer for this is absolute yes. I won’t be able to do a thing without the help of my community. By going around the many communities I am in, asking questions and receiving answers, this is already a part of how the community is involved in my project.
- How will you present your personal project? (i.e. what format)
- I will present my personal project in a form of physical product. It’s in a form of a photo book, containing the many beautiful photos. The photos contained are taken personally by me, not from the internet or other resource.
