This is the page where I investigate my information that I have gathered during the last one and a half months. All the information and resources can be seen here, organized date by date with an MLA structure as the bibliography. I was given three steps that I need to follow, and the reason for this page was to help researching information of my project. I don’t know why my supervisor wants me to do this, but I’m thinking this is for the best of me. In order for this activity to go smoothly, do it one step at a time.
Here are the three steps required:
Step 1: Task Definition
What kind of information are you looking for?
Well, of course I’m looking for information that has a connection with the environment and natural life. I only need relevant information, as irrelevant information may lead me to confusion and can messes things up. The information will also be gathered from a variety of different sources scattered around the house or exploring outside the house.
What are the possible solutions?
The possible solution to create an environmental photo book is of course going to the field and witness what nature looks like, and taking pictures of the surrounding nature. Surveying the field and experimenting with the photo shoot will also be needed.
What does it contain?
The photo book, like its name, speaks for itself. It mainly contains photos I have shot in the work field for my personal project. The photos itself are made up of mainly photos of how we can save the Earth with the technology we have today. Other photos are the current environment and nature condition located across Indonesia. There will also be brief introduction to the making of the photo book and the reasons of creating one. A list of credits will also be included.
What materials can you use to use?
The materials I will be using for my project are as listed below:
- Reference books
- Connection to the World Wide Web
- Networking with people involved as environmentalist
- High quality, high gloss photo printing paper
- High quality printing paper
- Money up to Rp. 10 million at maximum
What construction skils will I use?
I will be needing some basic skills of photography, social communication, graphic designing, and printing. The skills of photography is the most crucial here, since my project resolves around taking high quality photos. It will approximately take two months maximum of extensive training. Social communication is another crucial skill as it is needed to interact with the society. If I were to kept silent and can’t communicate properly with the people that will be helping me, my work won’t even move on, since I don’t communicate with them and they don’t know what instructions given. Graphic designing is for the purpose of attractive layout and overall attractiveness. Printing is a minor skill, but not to ignore the printing techniques. Some slight mistakes might ruin the whole paper. I will be doing this at a usual printing press that prints high quality books and other media.
What kind of equipment will I use?
I will need several equipments and only relevant ones. The equipments needed are SLR cameras to take great pictures with nice details, a durable and compatible personal computer so it can stand the amount of works I’ll be doing, any kind of transport system that can take me to my designated field, and a factory sized printing machine as I will be needing the printer’s ability to print high quality books.
